We were 27 members but, after the accession of Croatia on July 2013, we are 28 and there are more that are expecting... The five countries, now official candidates to join the EU, are Turkey, Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Montenegro and Serbia.
In 1979, on 7 and 10 June, the first direct elections to the European Parliament were held and also in 1979 the IES "Pablo Gargallo" opened its doors. We are, therefore, on the 35th anniversary of both events. On 8 and 9 May, we will celebrate both anniversaries plus Europe Day.
